Akhirnya setelah berkutat seharian sukses juga menyandingkan mikrotik dengan proxy FreeBSD. Proxy ini memakai IP yang sama subnet dengan mikrotik box. Topologinya seperti dibawah;
Mikrotik Versi 2.9.27 dengan 2 LAN card
FreeBSD versi 6.1 dengan 1 LAN card
internet —– modem ADSL (bridge) —— switch —— Mikrotik box 192.168.1.1
|—— Proxy (squid+FreeBSD) 192.168.1.2
lalu lintas http diendorse oleh mikrotik ke squid. Cuma 1 kelemahannya disini adalah, yang terlihat di access.log IP-nya si mikrotik.
Untuk langkah-langkah instalasi dan konfigurasi lagi recall memory dulu untuk dituangkan ke blog ini.

Disalah satu HDD komputer di rumah berdasarka log report mengeluarkan log yang berbunyi;
22:50:50 kernel hda: dma_intr: error=0×84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
22:50:50 kernel hda: dma_intr: status=0×51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Nggak tahu nih HDD kenapa tapi sepertinya sudah mau tewas. Duh padahal ini HDD 20GB dan si HDD merupakan komponen utama di network rumah.
Setelah browsing sana sini akhirnya didapatkan beberapa solusi sementara yaitu dengan menurunkan kinerja dari si HDD.

Hari ini Akhirnya CD ubuntu dari shipit sampe juga ke rumah. Dan ini surprise karena datengnya kurang dari 1 bulan sejak tanggal request.
2 CDs requested on 2007-10-10. 2 CDs were approved and sent to the shipping company on 2007-10-15.
Walopun kena charge lima rebu ama Pos, tapi tak mengurangi rasa terimakasih ke team shipit.

Ubuntu is one of the few Linux distributions out there that will not enable the root account. If you want to do something with root permission on the console you have to type sudo before the command.
sudo” means superuser do. “sudo” will prompt for “Password:”. Please specify user password
As you have noticed during the Ubuntu installation there was no question about the root password, as you might have been used to see during other Linux distribution installation process. Because of this your root account is inactive.
