Admin Control for Google Apps on Smartphones
Google release a new update to allow administrators to control and manage staff access to Google applications on a range of the enterprise devices.
The IT staff which has administrators right with Apps premier and Education Edition could be manage employee access to applications on iPhone, Nokia E series and Windows Mobile devices from the Google Apps control panel, no additional software needed.
The new features are designed to let administrators to ensure that corporate policies are enforced across a range of mobile devices, said Bryan Mawhinney that role as mobile software engineer at Google on blog post.
Administrators could control remotely wipe data from devices and lock them after a period of inactivity, also the administrators have right to enforce several password option such as setting minimum length and the use of numbers, punctuation and letters.
All features could accessible from control panel of Google Apps. Once user starts to synchronize a device with Google Apps, the administrator domain will be able to remotely wipe data from the user setting page.
With these updates, follow Googles’s launch last year of a number of enhancements to focusing on mobile productivity for Blackberry and android phone users.
